Alan Tiras is an attorney with an interest in business issues. Mr. Tiras’ practice includes the fields of corporate law, federal tax law, real estate law, wills and trusts, intellectual property and business planning. He has considerable experience in representing a wide range of commercial enterprises, from multinational corporations to domestic publicly held corporations to closely held family businesses. Mr. Tiras also assists individual clients with their business planning, real estate, tax, and estate planning needs.
A graduate of the University of Texas, he graduated with degrees in both accounting and finance with two years of mechanical and electrical engineering. After a stint in the oil business in the mid-80's, he went back to school where he graduated with his Jurisdoctorate degree and M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
After graduation, Mr. Tiras and his family moved to Incline Village, Nevada where he went into private practice and focused his representation on business law matters and where he developed a passion working with start-up and nascent companies. Besides assisting in the organization of these businesses, he has, and continues to serve as Outside General Counsel for other smaller companies utilizing his comprehensive network of other service providers.
Mr. Tiras received his JD and MBA from the University of Houston, and his BBA from the University of Texas. He is licensed to practice law in Nevada (1991) and is a member of the Nevada State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Washoe County Bar Association. He is a current member and past President of the Incline Village Bar Association.
In addition to his work as an attorney, Mr. Tiras has also served in an executive or management capacity for several companies.
Mr. Tiras is an author of materials on Forming a Business in Nevada and former Professor of Business Law at Sierra Nevada College. He is a member of the Washoe County, State of Nevada, American Bar Associations and is a Past-President of the Incline Village Bar Association.
The Incline Village Justice of the Peace, Judge Tiras has served as President/Chairman of the Incline Village/Crystal Bay Chamber of Commerce, Incline High School Boosters Club, Incline Village Citizen’s Advisory Board and the Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline. In addition, he has served as a member of the Boards of the Incline Schools Academic Excellence Foundation, CYMBAL and Incline Star Follies. In recognition of his community service, Mr. Tiras was honored as an Incline Village “Local”. Alan is a former City Councilman in Seminole, Oklahoma and was honored as that town’s Citizen of the Year in 1985.
